The Grass Roots Reading Group is open to everyone. You don't need to attend every meeting, although some of the most interesting discussions happen when we least expect them.
We meet on the first Tuesday of every month from 6:30 to 8pm. Our next meeting is February 7.
Our chosen book is always available for sale at a 15% to everyone, no attendance required.

Swamplandia!by Karen Russell
Sarah N. leads this month’s discussion of Karen Russell’s Swamplandia!
In the swamps of the Florida Everglades is Swamplandia!, the once-great gator-wrestling theme park of Chief Bigtree and his family. Following the death of the park’s star, her husband and children struggle to keep the park afloat. As Chief goes missing, son Kiwi defects to the competition, and oldest daughter Ossie falls in love and runs off with the ghost of a young man who died in the 1930s, youngest child Ava is left to take over her mother’s spotlight. To save her family, Ava must journey on her own to a perilous part of the swamp called the Underworld.
