Grass Roots sells books at The Magic Barrel: A Reading to Fight Hunger, and 100% of the NET profits are donated to the Linn-Benton Food Share.

The Mid-Willamette Valley’s premier literary event, The Magic Barrel, is held every fall to raise funds for Linn-Benton Food Share. The unique event is named after Bernard Malamud’s short story collection, The Magic Barrel, and is sponsored by Oregon State University (where he taught). The evening begins and ends with music and food, and the excitement of hearing new works, frequently by authors who are Oregon Book Award nominees. Visit the Magic Barrel website, here!
